KNIEVEL OUTFIT INSPIRED BY ROY ROGERS?

All photographs property of Johnny Airtime

While visiting the Gene Autry Museum in California to look at the leather carving work of Al Shelton, Johnny Airtime saw something he found very interesting: outfits worn by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Not only were they highly Knievelish, they were worn by Rogers and Evans when Knievel was just a kid - long before he ever jumped a motorcycle. No word from Rogers, Evans or Nudie's Rodeo Tailors on potential lawsuits to be filed against Knievel for imitating their designs. Rumor has it that Kanye West is upset over the blatant imitation.

Even seasoned Knievel fans have been quizzed about the outfit and boots and thought they were Evel Knievel's. Roy Rogers and Dale Evans wore them many years before Robert became Evel.
